About

Athena Goodman was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands and was brought to Boston, MA, a couple weeks after the infamous blizzard of ‘78. By the age of nine, she had discovered a misunderstood passion in her heart to write words that would impact the world. Her

Her arrival to the quaint, yet sedate Boston town had given her many opportunities over the years to carve out the beginnings of this fragile destiny. Goodman’s writing career began as a feature story writer in high school where her first story appeared in the Harvard Gazette.

In Virginia, she wrote for the Sundial Newspaper at a boarding college then named Randolph-Macon Women’s College. Later, she attended Radcliff College where she took graduate writing and editing classes then went to Harvard University, where her love for children’s literature was developed. Harvard’s Women’s Society later gave her the opportunity to recite the first poem she had ever written at age nine entitled “Smile.” Throughout the years, she had written many other poems, some of which were published in National Anthologies. Her Children’s fictional writing included a play called “A Thanksgiving to Remember,” which she wrote overnight for her Sunday school class that she produced, directed and choreographed in 1999 with a cast of over 21 children and one adult. In 2003, she received an honorable mention for her children’s story as a first time conferee and current member of St. David’s Christian Writers Conference.

Athena Goodman is an author, poet, songwriter, game app developer, and missionary rolled into one. She started writing at age 9 with a poem entitled, Smile, and before she graduated 6th grade, she was able to read all the books in her school library. This is when she consistently stated writing everything that swirled in her mind in a journal. She loves to communicate with people as much as she loves to writes as she believes in sharing her favorite memories and experiences.

Her Seventh Riddle Episode 1 did very well as it ranked number 1 on Amazon.com’s Hottest New Release Best Seller and two other top 100th categories for the first month.

Other books penned by Athena include the forthcoming Seventh Riddle Episode 2, Amazing Animal Funphabets, Bunnyland in Crisis, If Grades Were a Zoo, and Agent DJ, inspired by her cat, DJ who’s clever that can seem to know something and can speak and understands what she says. Also, a song, Winds of Change that she wrote.

"This is amazing!! I've only just started reading this and I've already had to purchase the full version so I can read it over and over again, I love riddles and puzzles etc and having them in books is even better! I take notes with books like these to see if I can work out who the bad guy is, I can see this one is going to be a hard one! Just when you think you've got it there's another twist and you're sent straight back to the beginning again! This is definitely a book for those that love to be enthralled in a story!"

"The 7th Riddle: Episode 1 by Athena Goodman is the beginning of what appears to be a promising new series. Because of its brevity, it’s only 19 pages long. It kind of reminds me of those old movie serials that ran between the two feature films, along with the cartoon, the coming attractions and the newsreel. The story got off to something of a slow start because the inciting incident and the lock in didn’t happen until the beginning of the second half of this episode when Cara found her older sister murdered in their kitchen, lying in a pool of blood under the table. Her older sister, Vivian, was pregnant and gave spontaneous birth to Cara’s nephew as she laid dying. The ending was a real cliffhanger. What will happen to Cara and her infant nephew since she is only sixteen and has no known relatives? Will they become wards of the state? Will her favorite teacher adopt them? The scene ends with Cara in her teacher’s arms. Like all my favorite weekly serials of yesteryear, this one leaves me waiting impatiently for the next episode so I can find out what happens to Cara and her newborn nephew. Come on, Athena, publish the next episode before I die of curiosity."

" This is an interesting short mysterious read. It begins with school students learning about riddles and codes from their professor but turns dark and mysterious with twists and turns that keep you wanting for more. I loved how the author picked those cool names for the characters. Will be ordering the next book! "
